Chris, his mom, my mom, and my grandmother, went and saw her today.

The sonographer confirmed my suspisions. My sweet little Lily's feet are way in my ribs, FUN!

She's beautiful, I'm really happy with the way the pictures turned out! She REALLY likes her umbilical cord. As you see, the cord is in every picture! She wouldn't move it

I tried to get a video of her moving yesterday but she was camera shy. But, I was able to get it this morning!  So precious. :)

Diapers for a Newborn?

Well, I've decided until Lily can fit into one size diapers, I will just keep her in prefolds with diaper covers. This is the most economical strategy. My plan is purcahasing the following:

Started our registry

I wasn't planning on registering until a few more months from now, but a few people asked if I could go ahead so they know what we want. If y'all decide to purchase from somewhere else, let me know, so I can delete it off the registry. I did want to tell everyone, I have found several used Peg Perego car seats on Craigslist for a third of the unused price, I do not mind used stuff. I have been on Craig's List lurking at some of the good stuff myself.

Within the next few weeks Chris and I will go in to the store, to pick out some stuff that was difficult to decipher the color, like sheets, pads, clothes, etc.

We registered at Babies R' Us, our registry number is 46038527.

We also registered for diapers & accesories for the dipes at Kelly's Closet. You can find out registry by our names Chris and Katie Pablo. It will prompt you for a password to access the registry, so please email or call me about it. Keep in mind you will have to order the diapers online.

We went in to the OB today to see our last 2d (medical) ultrasound of our baby girl. I will see her one time again during a 3d/4d ultrasound done that we will do (it is an optional ultrasound that insurance doesn't cover) on November 29th. After that, we won't see her again until she is born. It honestly makes me a little sad, I will go for 3 months without seeing her at all. Today our regular OB confirmed Lily is indeed a Lily. Everything looks normal and healthy, all organs: brain, kidney, stomach, heart etc., measured and looked great. The sonographer said there were no red flags at all, she even zoomed into Lily's face to see if there was a cleft pallet, there isn't. Liliana is weighing in at a whopping 10 ounces today, but I was told within two weeks she will be at least a pound. I can't believe it. The placenta is posterior, which means I will really feel her kicking. Which she is, kicking away, all day.



I'm nearing the half way point :)

I'll be 20 weeks on Tuesday, September 28th, 2010. I've gained just 8 pounds, so I feel good about that. I was reading somewhere gaining 10 pounds is average for 20 weeks. If I've only gained 8 pounds though, where is it all coming from? My belly is huge. Which makes me wonder, if I'm this big now, how big will I be in a few weeks?

Going Cloth. Going Green.

We've decided that not only would it be kind to the environment, but it'll also be kind to our wallet. Then we can use that money elsewhere for Lily. I know it'll be a bit more work, but I really think it will pay off. I watched a show about disposable dipes, and they are gross! Toxins and poisons, that will not be on my daughter. I have found some brands that I will use for my 'stash'. In my stash I will start off with 30 dipes, that way I only have to wash every 2-3 days. So here is my ideal stash: Flips, because they seem super easy. There is no pocket to put the inserts, instead it is attached to the front and back of the dipe. Then, I do not have to wash the entire dipe, just the inserts. The second one I will have in my stash are a few bumGenius 4.0. They seem to be very durable, and inserts are very thick. They are also - SUPER cute. The third set of dipes in my collections will be Fuzzi Bunz. The last brand of dipes I will put in my stash are Sunbabies. Yes, it seems too good to be true. But from the baby board I'm a member on, Baby Center's Cloth Diapering Board , everyone seems to really love them. And for the price, who can't go wrong with that!?

I am really hoping and wishing that I can get into the routine of having to clean cloth diapers, it's something I am really wanting to do. Since becoming pregnant, my hippy side is really starting to show :) I found this site, All About Cloth Diapers, really helpful in my decision and understanding of cloth dipes.

How your baby's growing:

Your baby's sensory development is exploding! Her brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. Some research suggests that she may be able to hear your voice now, so don't be shy about reading aloud, talking to her, or singing a happy tune if the mood strikes you.

Your baby weighs about 8 1/2 ounces and measures 6 inches, head to bottom — about the size of a large heirloom tomato. Her arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of her body now. Her kidneys continue to make urine and the hair on her scalp is sprouting. A waxy protective coating called the vernix caseosa is forming on her skin to prevent it from pickling in the amniotic fluid.

Our nursery colors

We have figured it out what colors we want for her room, yellow and gray. I started looking at fabric stores about a week ago, but haven't found anything I love. I have, however, found some prints I as well as Chris LOVE online. I also have found a wall decal I will order in the next few months. Tell me what you think :)

Ofcourse, the name will not be Lauren, but instead Lily and the decal lettering will be gray and the bird will be yellow. We will plan on putting the name decal right about her crib.

Lily is more active now than ever

I have been down in the dumps the last few days with a bacterial infection. I think she wants me to know she wants me to feel better. She has been so active, very distinguished kicking and/or punching. Not just in the evening anymore but through out the day.

Is baby a boy or a girl?

September 10th 2010

This morning I had an appointment for my baby's anatomy scan. I knew I wouldn't be able to hold my secret at work all day long, and I wanted to surprise everyone in a cute way. So, I made cupcakes last night blue and pink.

The first 30 minutes baby was sleeping with it's back facing out, so all we could see was the spine, and then, had it's legs crossed. I got up jumped up and down, Chris prodded my belly a bit asking baby to move. I prayed to God to make my Little One wake up so we could see what he has gifted us with. After that 30 frustrating minutes baby flipped over and opened its legs WIDE open. We got the perfect shot.

I felt the baby move

August 29th 2010 - 15 weeks 5 days

During church I felt my baby move for the first time. Well I've been feeling movement all all week, but wasn't sure. Today I used my heart doppler and realized the baby was in the same location that I have been feeling movement, so it really just confirms it.

Started my second trimester

August 17th 2010 - 14 weeks

I am so ecstatic. No more morning sickness or fatigue, but more importantly my tiny baby is out of the danger zone.

Heard baby's heartbeat

August 3rd 2010

I started to really show this week. I had to buy my first maternity jeans. I love them, they are sooooo comfortable.

I went in to the OB's office to hear the heartbeat & the first part of baby's NT scan. The NT scan identifies chromosomal syndromes such as Downs and Trisomy 13.

The heartbeat was loud and strong at 148 bpm. This sound was amazing, so amazing I ordered a home Doppler. The first part of the NT scan was normal.

9 weeks First Ultrasound

Chris, my mother, and I went in to my first ultrasound today. It was simply amazing, I have never experienced anything like it. I felt blessed the moment I saw my tiny baby. Then my baby moved, and just started moving and moving and moving. I yelped and started crying with joy. Chris was about two feet away from the viewing screen taking pictures with his iphone. He is, surprisingly, just as excited as I am.

6.6.10 Positive Test

I had this dream.

We were going to a nice restaurant for my best friend’s bachelorette party and she put me in this horrible, hideous black sequence dress. I kept complaining telling her I was fat and tired and all I wanted to go home and go to sleep. Well, in my dream I was five months pregnant. I’ve always had out of this world, weird dreams. Then I woke up.

Well on the 1^st I impatiently took a pregnancy test, and well, I got a HUGE UGLY BIG FAT NEGATIVE. I pretty much had given up and since I read online woman should wait until Miss Mother Nature was supposed to come, then test. I had fully anticipated to do this, until I had this dream.

I had this urge to get up and run to the store. While looking up a recipe for cookies to make for Chris's uncle John's birthday I contemplated getting another pregnancy test while getting my cookie supplies.

Well, I held my bladder so I could still use first morning urine and rushed home from the store to pee on that darn stick. And this was my result:

Chris was in shock and told me I should take another one in a week just to be sure. Then he told me “Start taking your pre-natals” and “You’ll start to feel flutters like you have gas.” LOL
